⚠️ 18+ | CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE READING

Okay, Mine to Hunt has officially had me questioning EVERYONE.
You know those books where you think you have everything figured out, and then a few pages later you're sitting there thinking, Wait...maybe I was completely wrong?
Yeah. That's me with this book.
One minute I am completely convinced Dr. Ashcroft is behind everything. Something happens and I'm like, Yep. It's him. I KNOW it's him.
Then Al, the friend, does or says something that makes me suspicious and suddenly I'm switching sides like:
WAIT. IS IT AL?!
At this point, I have gone back and forth between Dr. Ashcroft and Al so many times that I don't trust either one of them. 😂
And honestly? That's one of my favorite things about this book.
I love when a dark romance doesn't just rely on the romance or spice to keep me interested. Give me the mystery. Give me the suspense. Give me little details that make me suspicious of everybody. I want to think I've figured it out just for the author to make me question myself three pages later.
And Mine to Hunt definitely gave me that.
There is something about Dr. Ashcroft that keeps setting off little warning bells in my head. Is it the mention of him observing/studying his younger patients? Maybe...But every single time I start thinking, Okay, Jojo, you've figured this out, something happens with Al that has me looking at him sideways again. Especially when he looks at the camera like he knows someone is watching.....
Dr. Ashcroft? Al? Dr. Ashcroft? AL?!
I DON'T KNOW ANYMORE.
Meanwhile, the darker and more obsessive this story gets, the more invested I become.
This definitely isn't a sweet, healthy little romance. There are red flags EVERYWHERE.
Boundaries? Questionable. Morals? We're not even going to pretend those are intact.
And somehow I'm over here turning pages like...
Okay, but what happens next?!
What I Loved
For me, the psychological suspense and mystery are what really make this book.
I love trying to figure out who is hiding something and whether the person we're supposed to trust is actually someone we should be suspicious of. The fact that I keep changing my mind about Dr. Ashcroft and Al tells me the story is doing exactly what I want a psychological dark romance to do.
Make me suspicious of everyone.
I also really like that there is more going on than just the romance. The obsession, danger, secrets, trauma, and uncertainty all add another layer that keeps me wanting answers.
And apparently I have a thing for fictional men covered in red flags because here we are. 😂
Would I Recommend It?
If you enjoy dark romance mixed with psychological suspense, absolutely.
Especially if you're someone who likes sitting there trying to put the clues together while you're reading.
Just don't expect me to tell you who I think it is because apparently my answer changes every few chapters.
Right now?
Dr. Ashcroft.
Wait...
Al.
No. Ashcroft.
Actually...
You know what? I DON'T TRUST ANY OF THEM. 😂

Final Thoughts
Mine to Hunt is dark, twisted, suspenseful, obsessive, and exactly the type of book that makes me say "one more chapter" when I know I should be going to bed.
I love that I'm not just reading the story—I'm actively trying to solve it.
I'm watching Dr. Ashcroft.
I'm watching Al.
At this point, I'm basically watching EVERYBODY.
And if neither one of them is who I think they are, I'm probably going to have to go back and reread the whole thing just to see all the clues I missed.
If you decide to pick this one up, PLEASE check the trigger warnings first. This is an 18+ dark romance and contains mature and potentially disturbing themes that may not be suitable for every reader.
But for my fellow dark-romance readers who love suspense, obsession, questionable men, and trying to figure out who the heck they can trust...
Add this one to your list.
